And . . .

. . . we can't leave out Miss Rosie-Roo. Here's a video of Roz practicing her verbal skills whilst showing some skin. Of course, that would never be enough for Rosie. Notice the way she mounts her highchair at the end like a pommel horse . . . (oh yes - ahem - you'll hear a bit crying in the background - that would be Brook - she's o.k. - honest).

Tribute to Tractor Tom

Brook is a big fan of the Tractor Tom show. She's been practicing the theme song and I think she's got it down pat. You'll notice that Rosie loves listening to Brook when she sings. It makes her want to ... well ... clean stuff (notice the vigor and determination). Hope you enjoy.

Let's Test These Babies Out!

Just last week, Rosie found her rubber boots in the closet. To say she was thrilled is an understatement. For those of you who haven't heard, our little Roslyn has a thing for all footwear, especially the purple, shiny kind. She promptly sat down, put them on and wouldn't take them off. Ever. She wore them out in the snow, while playing in the basement, during her nap and as you can see, in the tub. And she showed quite the 'tude when Sean attempted to remove them.
This picture is classic Rosie. Little, determined and with something on her feet.

Upon Request

It seems that our blog's a hit. We've had requests for more pics. Sooo ... here's one of Brook giggling in the tub:

It's difficult to get Rosie to stay still for anything (we call her our "little wrecking ball"), but, surprisingly, she posed for Mandy the other day in the kitchen:

Here are a few more of the girls playing in the snow. We've been dumped on a couple of times recently and it's been cold enough for the snow to stick around (sure are looking forward to spring!):

Bible Scholars in the Making?

So about a month ago we purchased a kids Bible for Brook. We were a little unsure if she'd be interested, but, to our surprise, she was. We read through many of the stories in the first week and returned to the "bad" ones often (it seems that Brook likes the ones with lots of violence--the bloodier the better). After that we began to act out her favorite stories--David and Goliath, Daniel and the Lions Den, Elijah and the prophets of Baal, Moses crossing the Red Sea, Jonah and the Big Fish, Joseph and the Many-Colored Coat, etc. Now she likes to read to Rosie. Mandy snuck up on them one day in the livingroom.

First Things First

Hello friends and loved ones!

We thought that this might be a good way to keep in touch. The inspiration came from our friends the Byes who just recently moved to Perth, Australia. They've got a fantastic blog and we always feel a little closer to them when reading it together. Check it out: http://thebyeblog.blogspot.com.

Maybe the best way to begin is with a few pics of the girls. Every Saturday morning we get up and have waffles together. Mmmm ... so good.

This is no eat-and-run event. We tell stories from our week, debate serious issues, and laugh lots together. Here's Brook ready for some post-waffle confab:

... and thinking really hard about something Daddy just said:

After we're done, Mandy (Mom) and Sean (Dad) linger over tea and watch the girls play in the livingroom. We love this time together. Often we hang out in our pjs until noon. I think we've developed what people call a "family ritual." Wow. Never thought we'd be into developing family rituals ... :-)
