A Great Family Project

It has been so cold recently and we have all been feeling a bit caged in. I mean we have really been pacing the cage. So, what better project to free us from these chilling confines than to make bird feeders! Brookie got this idea from her preschool and so we decided to give them a try. And you too can create these stunning feeders. Simply follow a few simple steps:

First, get all your supplies. Brookie and Rosie are displaying the necessary items: peanut butter, oranges and bird seed.

Cut the oranges in half and scoop out the fruit. Then eat the oranges.

My assistants insisted that they taste the peanut butter to make sure it met our standards. They liked it a lot.

Mix the peanut butter with the bird seed in a bowl.

Bird Feeders Continued

Take the peanut butter/bird seed mixture and fill the orange halves. Rosie is still wondering why she can't eat said mixture.
And finally, take them outside to share with your feathered friends. We had grand plans to spred these little gems throughout our backyard but the face-freezing winds caused us to reconsider. Notice how they all ended up in a line on our back deck.

The most satisfying moment of all was watching the birds eating from our little feeders. The girls were enraptured and very proud of themselves. I was proud of them too. I mean when it is this cold, we all have to help each other. ~Mandy

Just Hangin' Around

Rosie was doing one of her famous dance routines and stopped momentarily for a photo op. And as you can see from the picture, she has not tired of wearing her party dress. ~Mandy
