A Saskatoon Adventure

My parents came to visit this summer and one of our highlights was an overnight trip to Saskatoon. The first and possibly most popular part of our adventure was the ferry trip. Yes - there is a ferrry in southern saskatchewan.

On our way to the big city, we came across a great little lake with a beach that was just too perfect to pass up. The girls began with wading in to feel the water. Then they went up to the hems of their skirts, and then they hiked up their skirts and went up to their little underweared butts. Before I could get back from the car with their bathing suits, they had just taken the plunge fully clothed. We did finally get the suits on and they had a fantastic time playing on the beach.

One of my favourite places in Saskatoon is the Kinsmen Park. They have a carousel and a train that the kids can ride for a dollar. Parents ride for free. They also have a really good splash pool and park. Needless to say, we spent some time taking it all in . . . and then some.

As a special summer treat, we took the girls to Build-a-Bear in the mall where they spent 1 1/2 hours creating their very own stuffed bears, complete with little hearts inside all that soft stuffing, pretty little outfits and shoes. Thanks to Ama, the bears even got some underwear. It was quite an experience. Brookie named hers Cotton Candy and Rosie went with Pinkie Pie.

Of course, another exciting part of our Saskatoon trip was sleeping in a hotel. The girls had a great sleep and then began their day with timbits and cartoons in a king-sized bed. It doesn't get much better.

It was an excellent trip. We saw Saskatoon at its prettiest and had lots of quality time with Ama and Bops. Thanks, guys!

I just relived our trip to Saskatoon all over again and it was just as special the second time around. The time out west with our 3 precious girls was a highlight of summer for us as well. What memories! Who needs Disney world?? xxxx
