The Big Day On Toronto Island

Our biggest adventure with Nan, was a full day of sightseeing and fun on our way to her old house where she grew up on Toronto Island. It was a bit like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles except without the planes, Steve Martin or John Candy. We began by driving to the train station. Then we took the train to Toronto. This was the first time Brookie and Rosie rode a train. It was a lot of fun.

Here we are inside the train on our way to Toronto. Then we walked down to the water to catch the ferry across to the island. It was a perfect day for a ferry ride: sunny, breezy, not too hot. Another first for the girls.

Posing on the deck of the boat - and so excited to get going!

Ah - the breeze in our hair (except for Sean), and we were off . . .

Brooklyn really enjoyed the ride.

Once we arrived, our day was full with a picnic, time at Centreville with all the rides, walking to Nan's house, and then we had a long journey back to Burlington. It was a wonderful day. The girls and I still talk about all the fun we had. Thanks so much, Nan!
