The Ballet Recital

Brookie and Rosie finished their year of ballet classes with a recital May 27th at the Golden Age Centre here in Caronport. They did their routine to a Winnie the Pooh song dressed in pink. It was pretty adorable, which made up for the lack of originality in the choreography. Their instructor, Miss Lacey, is young and still learning herself. We were just really thankful to have someone willing to organise the lessons.

So as someone said, it did feel a bit like we had been dropped onto the set of Napoleon Dynamite and there were lots of quirky “small town” moments when I secretly wished for something better for the girls (and me) but the fact of the matter is that this is it for us right now, in all its quirky, weird, less than professional splendour. And the girls felt like little stars. They had a wonderful time.So that is the most important thing. No matter where you are, everyone is beautiful at the ballet.  ~Mandy
